Common questions

I can't sign in with Apple+

Make sure you're on iOS 16 or later and that Apple Sign In is enabled for the app in Settings → Apple Account → Sign-In & Security. If the problem persists, fully delete the Birder AI app, reinstall it from the App Store, and try again.

How do I cancel or change my subscription?+

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. Go to Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions on your iPhone or iPad, tap Birder AI, and choose Cancel Subscription or change plan. You'll keep Premium access until the end of your current billing period. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

An identification looks wrong+

Tap "Not in list" on the result screen to pick the correct species — this both fixes your sighting and helps us improve. If the model is consistently wrong on a particular species or photo type, please email us with the photo so we can investigate.

How do I delete my account and data?+

From the You tab, tap Settings → Privacy → Delete Account. Deletion cascades across your sightings, photos, comments, follows, and identification history. It's permanent and immediate. You can also email us if you'd like a data export before deleting.

Can I use Birder AI in my country?+

Yes — the app is available worldwide on the App Store. Our species database covers all ~11,000 birds in the eBird/Clements taxonomy. If you find a species missing or mislabeled for your region, please let us know.

Can I export my life list?+

Yes. From the You tab, tap Settings → Privacy → Export Data. We'll email you a ZIP containing your sightings, photos, and a CSV of your life list within 24 hours.

How do I report a bug or request a feature?+

Email info@jhobbie.com with as much detail as you can — what you did, what you expected, what happened. Screenshots and your iPhone model help. We read every email.

Press, partnerships, or research access?+

Email info@jhobbie.com with "Press", "Partnership", or "Research" in the subject line. We're happy to provide press kits, app screenshots, anonymized usage data for academic research, and partnership terms for nature centers, parks, and conservation organizations.

Still stuck?

Email info@jhobbie.com with a quick description of what’s going on. Screenshots help. A real human reads every message.
